Story Behind the Photo:
"While birding in the Rapti River near Hetauda, I stumbled upon a mound of plastic waste that cattle egrets were feeding on. Plastic pollution has affected the surroundings and the wildlife present there, harming the natural environment. Large plastic trash, such as bottles and packing, is widely recognized for strangling birds and making life difficult. Microplastics also have an unintentional impact on birds because they feed on them, mistaking them for food, and this ingestion frequently results in mortality, including the death of their young.
So, we must reduce plastic pollution to save our natural environment and one of the major mitigation measures is public awareness."
